However, the present resource of the EMU train knowledge is lack of the unified knowledge description which can not meet the user’s query and dissemination of the domain knowledge. The ontology description methods and tools based on the semantic Web technology make it possible to express formally and share the domain knowledge. Domain ontology has become an important tool for knowledge organization and management. With the continuous growth of the domain knowledge and the change of application requirements, the domain knowledge needs to update as well. As the same time, in order to meet the requirements of the knowledge engineer and the query of the domain users. It is necessary to carry on the research on the construction of ontology query pattern.In this dissertation, we focus on the research and the application of the EMU train, the sub-field of high speed rail. The ontology technology is applied to the organization and management of the domain knowledge of the EMU train. We try to realize the evolution and semantic query application of the EMU train field knowledge and provide the more comprehensive and effective service for the knowledge engineers and domain users. The main works of this dissertation are summarized as follows. Firstly, the paper introduces the domestic and overseas research status of the ontology construction, evolution and semantic query. Secondly, it introduces the basic theory and method of modeling and application of ontology. And then a core ontology of EMU train field is established which combined with particular circumstances of the EMU train domain ontology being improved and perfected based on the comparative analysis of present main ontology construction method. Afterwards, the paper proposes a semi automatic ontology evolution method which uses the resource of the semantic web and the core ontology established. Next, the paper discusses the basic semantic query method and writes semantic rules to carry out deep level query and inference on the ontology using the established ontology knowledge base of the EMU train field.
