With the rising living standards, the district green coverage rate gradually improve, robot lawn machine is entering every corner of the city. As one of the most important eyes and compass in the robot technology, positioning system has a very important significance for the large-scale application of the robot technology. In this paper, a laser positioning system with a simple structure and precise positioning accuracy is described.In the first of this thesis, the hardware of the system is described in detail, and the function modules and working mechanism are described in detail. In the middle part of the paper, software part according to the overall design, algorithm description, functional modules and other design ideas were introduced in detail. Finally, the accuracy and reliability of the positioning system are tested, and the feasible conclusion is obtained.This system has both the feasibility of the design and the market, which is the most important problem for the robot lawn machine with the accurate positioning and the cheap price. It will have a good promotion effect on the robot-lawn machine.
