As an important part of the national equipment industry, construction machinery provides a strong support for the national construction and is considered to be a major symbol of the level of equipment manufacturing. Compared with traditional drilling equipment, rotary drilling rig has the advantage of low operating noise, good quality of borehole, high construction efficiency and so on. Rotary drilling rig has been widely used in foundation engineering, which represents the development direction of the pile machinery.To solve the problem of low reliability of the existing rotary drilling rig in cooperative enterprise, based on investigation and the theory of innovative design of mechanical products, theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental verification methods were used to accomplish the design of mechanical structure and monitoring system of high reliability mini rotary drilling rig. The main research work of this paper is described as follows.(1) Analyzed the technical features and development trends of mini rotary drilling rig at home and abroad, combined with the mechanical innovation design theory and the design method based on functional decomposition, put forward the design scheme of mechanical structure and monitoring system of high reliability mini rotary drilling rig.(2) Taking the structural characteristics and assembly relationship into consideration, applied CAD technology in this design. Utilized SolidWorks software to establish the rotary drilling rig 3D model and accomplish the design of mechanical structure of high reliability mini rotary drilling rig, which shortened design cycle and improved work efficiency.(3) Based on the finite element method, the simulation research of mechanical structure of the high reliability mini rotary drilling rig was carried out. Considering the complex working conditions, used ANSYS Workbench software to launch the statics analysis and modal analysis under different working conditions for drilling rod, to launch simulation analysis for power head structure. This research work verified the rationality and reliability of the design, also provided a theoretical basis for the optimization of the whole structure.(4) Completed the monitoring system design of high reliability mini rotary drilling rig and carried out experimental research. Built an experimental platform and simulated the working process of rotary drilling rig, which was used to test the performance of monitoring system. Experimental result indicated the designed monitoring system performed well and met the requirements of practical application.
