The steel structure dwelling houses have the advantages as good performance under seismic action, fast construction and can be recycled. It meets the necessity of the housing industrialization and the requirement of the sustainable development. Growing with Chinese steel production, and maturity technology in steel designing and installation, the development of steel structure dwelling houses will be a new proposition in the process of housing industrialization in our country.The beam-column joint, which plays the role of transmiting the moment and shear, is the key to steel structure design, and its performance directly affect the overall structure of reaction. New type node connection between the square steel tube column and H steel beam was paid attention to by more and more researchers at home and abroad because of its superior mechanical performance. On the one hand, aiming at the problem of the connection between the square steel tube column and H steel beam in practice, such as:the construction technology and welding quality can’t be achieved at the same time and the bolt should be installed on both sides and so on. On the other hand, in order to further improve the connection between the square steel tube column and steel beam, rich node connection form, a kind of new type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolted connection steel structure is put forward.New type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolt is mainly by changing the traditional way of connection, using a specific form of bolt and operation way, to make it be tightened and fixed by torsional shear electric wrench on one side, unlike the traditional bolt which need to be operated on both sides. The connection mode is not only convenient for the rectangular steel tube column and steel beam but also can be adapted to joint connection of any section forms. It can be easily realized all bolt connection between the square steel tube column and steel beam with this kind of one-side bolt.In combination with the development ideas and the research status of single sided bolting systems at home and abroad and the application status of torsional shear type high strength bolt in our country, based on the torsional shear type high strength bolt as the base material, new type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolt is studied by the experiment exploration and research of the forming process, the forming mechanism and the mechanism of force. In addition to a small amount of ABAQUS finite element analysis, a new type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolt is developed out.In order to obtain the mechanical properties of the new type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolt, the pretension experience test, the anti slip coefficient test and the theoretical and experimental study on the performance of shear resistance are carried out, which are also compared to the mechanical properties of the torsional shear type high strength bolt. The research results show that the mechanical properties of the new type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolt can achieve the mechanical properties of the torsional shear type high strength bolt, and can meet the requirements of relevant codes.In order to verify the engineering practicability of the new type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolt, extended end plate steel structure connection specimens which respectively use the new type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolts and the torsional shear type high strength bolts are tested under horizontal loading test, the moment-rotation curve, yield load, ultimate load, the force performance of the bolt, the distribution of bolt tension and the stress changes and distribution of beam、end plate and column are compared and studied. The experimental results show that the new type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolt as well as the torsional shear type high strength bolt can provide reliable connection for steel beam and column in engineering, which further verify the applicability of the new type self-tightening high strenghth one-side bolt in practical engineering.
