Portable power supply is used where a natural disaster occurs to guarantee power supply of important loads. Marketable portable solar power supply products have the characteristic of cumbersome, single charging mode and unstable output under illumination variation circumstance. Researching portable photovoltaic inverter’s key technique to provide a high quality and reliability solution has been done in this paper. This photovoltaic power supply has a prominent prospect in telecommunication, military, hospital and emergency power supply circumstance.This topic researches non-isolated solar inverter topology. An intelligent power module(IPM) has been used to set up the main circuit of the system. The IPM integrates IGBT, drivers and protection circuits in one module which makes it easier and reliable to use. The IPM used in this topic is available to operate at high switching frequency that makes it easier to decrease the LC filter’s shape. An improved maximum power point tracking algorithm has been proposed to deal with illumination variation situations. Small signal analysis method has been used to modeling the whole system and it can be divided into maximum power point tracking circuit and inverter circuit. Mathcad tool has been used to analysis system’s transfer function and the PI controller. This topic designs a solar inverter and it includes hardware design and software design. It can be summarized as followings: the usage of intelligent power module, design of magnetic material, design of power supply, signal conditioning circuit design and software program based on TI’s DSP28335.A portable photovoltaic power supply has been developed which can be used as outdoor portable power supply. This equipment outputs stable 220V/50 Hz AC power and has very small total harmonic distortion.
