As a hot research field, the study of smart home reflects people for a new residential requirements and it has attracted more and more people’s attention. The security system is an important subsystem of smart home, it has important significance to the response to the kitchen gas leakage, household appliances, home invasion robbery and other household security issues. Existing home security products has high false alarm rate, high cost and power consumption disadvantages, it is difficult to meet the basic needs of smart home security system. Considering the basic requirements of smart home security system and combined with the sensor technology, this thesis designed a smart home security system based on ZigBee.This thesis analyzes the basic requirements of smart home security system and compared the popular wireless communication technology, choose the ZigBee wireless network technology as the network solutions to the smart home security system. In the smart home security system, node communication distance is short, the data communication has obstacles and the communication data is not big. This thesis analyzes the difference of star topology, tree topology and network topology in ZigBee protocol, finally choose the tree topology and designed a smart home security system based on cluster tree topology.Smart home security system using ZigBee technology to design network, the network hardware was used the CC2530 system of TI company. By using CC2530 designed the coordinator node, the router node and terminal node of smart home security system. In the design of coordinator, it present detailed CC2530 connection with computer gateway and coordinator connection with CC2591. The gas detection, fire detection, burglary, broken glass, door magnetic detection, buzzer alarm and GSM Modem sensor nodes was designed in the terminal nodes.System software design using IAR integrated development environment Embedded Workbench, use the version was IAR for 8051 7.15 A, the protocol was used a version of ZStack-CC2530-2.3.0-1.4.0. The system designed the software of ZigBee coordinator, ZigBee router and ZigBee terminal node. The sensor network need to transmit the data to the computer after collecting data, the thesis introduced the interactive process of smart home gateway computer with sensor network and the interactive process of smart home gateway computer with mobile phone based on GSM Modem.On the test of smart home security system, the test process is divided into the experimental design and test phases, based on the communication quality,temperature and humidity acquisition test, the final test results show that the system has high reliability, low cost, low rate of false positives, the system meet the basic needs of smart home security system.
