Locomotive plays an important role in the transportations, which promotes the development of the national economy. This mode of transportation gets common development all over the world because of its large capacity, high speed,low energy consumption,and low transportation cost. The wheel is a key part of the train, high safety and reliability is critical to the normal operation of a train, and the wheel dynamics analysis is an important measure to ensure the safety and reliablity. Therefore, the research has important significance and value. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)By using the similarity theory we derived in detail the wheelset similarity model design criteria of similarity. Using the structure model of 3D drawing software SolidWorks to establish the wheelset model in the scale of 1:4, exchanging function of the wheelset structure model into ANSYS by using SolidWorks data. According to the static strength of high speed train wheelset analysis, through the force under various conditions validate the analysis results, the wheel does not occur static strength failure, meeting the design requirements.(2) With the increase of the running speed of high-speed train, higher requirements is arised on the dynamic properties of the wheel. According to the actual state of the train operation, we got the vibration mode of high speed train wheelset,natural frequency and frequency response function by using finite element analysis. The results show that, the wheel can avoid the occurrence of resonance in the process of operation.(3) We analysis the inherent characteristics of high speed train wheelset by using the style of test method. In order to verify the validity of the results of finite element analysis, take the train wheel set as experimental object, considering the effect of constraint based way, incentive method and position on the experimental results, related test equipment introduction modal test and harmonic response test are considered to determine the reasonable experimental plan. Through the test,we got each order natural frequency of the wheelset, modal shape and frequency response function, compared with the finite element analysis software, the results show that the finite element method analysis of natural characteristic and the test results are basically consistent, that is established with the finite element method model is correct.Test results show that the wheel train test bench, finite element model and dynamic analysis results established is correct, providing an important foundation for the development of analysis and fault diagnosis research of the train dynamics.
