Despite comply with the requirements of social progress, thermal power plants are gradually being replaced by other new power generation, but in the energy mix in today’s society, a thermal power plant still occupies an important position. Because of different geological conditions of the power plant, the settlement amount also varies, different observation points in the same building(structure) building materials will vary depending on load and produce uneven settlement, differential power plant building(structure) Settlement will power plant equipment operating conditions cause deterioration, reduced efficiency, and even endanger the safety of life and property of the people, therefore, from the construction of the power plant to run the entire process of implementation of the settlement and deformation constant monitoring is very necessary. Thus, accurate and timely arrangements for reasonable construction procedures and schedule, predicted final settlement of the foundations of buildings to ensure the safe and effective operation of the plant normally. The application of the traditional calculation methods of foundation settlement consolidation theory, due to the unreasonable assumptions and constraints, it is difficult to solve, and so on many factors and make the calculated value with the theoretical value of differences. In order to make the settlement prediction is more conform to the actual situation of technical personnel has been trying to explore a reasonable foundation settlement prediction method. In long-term engineering practice, people gradually realize the change of the settlement curve is there is a certain rule, namely with some well known type of curve change rule is the same, on this basis, according to the changing rule of the early settlement observation data to predict the settlement curve trend of the future. The theoretical foundation of the hyperbolic method is summed up based on a lot of experimental data and empirical formula, as a kind of method based on the measured data to predict foundation settlement, the hyperbola method with undetermined parameters and less easy to determine, calculation error is relatively small, said the settlement law of development consistent with a lot of practical engineering etc, and widely used, therefore, the theoretical foundation of the three point method is a one-dimensional consolidation theory, when the selection of appropriate forecast result is ideal, modified index curve method is improved on the basis of the exponential curve method, has better adaptability to the observation data, using range is more extensive. Based on the engineering background of a certain power plant, this paper chooses the coal-fired power plants built, material foundation settlement prediction software system "of the hyperbolic method, three point method and modified index curve method fitting method, using the data of settlement observation of the plant part of the building, made the final settlement prediction, and combining the project carries out a comparative analysis on the actual measurement data, the forecast effect is more ideal, can provide guidance for similar projects. Found in actual plans to fit, for hyperbolic fitting method, the selection of different fitting starting point, namely the S0 and t0, lead to ground subsidence prediction of final settlement have bigger difference, so if we can select appropriate S0 and t0 is crucial. Three point method and the method of modified index curve fitting effect is better also, late for ground subsidence prediction compared with the predictive results of the hyperbolic method is relatively conservative, forecast result also can achieve satisfactory effect.
