Lead-acid batteries is widely used in automotive industry because of its simple structure, low cost, small internal resistance, and start the advantages of good performance, especially with the development of the electric car industry. Therefore, it is more and more important for the lead-acid battery’s maintenance and methods of charging, it remains to be further improved on the theory and technology.Against the purpose of quick charge and implement the batch for the force, this paper mainly studies the problem of lead-acid battery quick charging. On the basis of fully understanding the lead-acid battery electrochemistry mechanism, combining with mass’s law, through comparative analysis of existing charging ways, putting forward the feasible pulse fast charging scheme. And then design and develop the corresponding charging circuit, discharge circuit and voltage and current detection circuit of hardware circuit, and use the Keil uVision3 development software with C language programming. In the last, develop fast charging control system, so as to realize the on-line monitoring charging process and the automatic control of state parameters. Fast charging control system has strong practicability, certain combat readiness for force value. It has a wide range of marketing value at the same time.Based on system theory analysis of the significance of related parameters in pulse fast charging curve, this article preliminarily established pulse fast charging theory model. With this model, we can get ideal quick charge experimental model through comparative studying a number of experimental data, then further optimize main parameters which affect the charging efficiency such as the positive pulse width of positive, the negative pulse width, down time before and after, and then establish the theory model of pulse rapid charging in the last, doing a large number of experiments analysis and validation, greatly improve the charging efficiency. Pulse quick charging improves at least double in efficiency as well as the two phases pulse charging of conventional charging in force, realizing the purpose of quick charging.At the same time, based on the existing literature data and experience, Researching on battery’s types of common fault and the mechanism. What’s more, studying main failure, such as sulfide, making preliminary inspection diagnosis and repair plan, conducting experiments to analysis.Developed online monitoring implementation plan, and through experiment verification, proved that the phase pulse quick charge has some function for sulfide fault repairing.
