With the continuous development of automotive industry, consumers make a higher demand on automobile driving comfort, stability and reliability of the automobile operation. As an important part of the car, the transmission power’s performance will have a direct impact on the car’s performance. The gear system is not noly the core component of transmission, but also of other related industries’equipment. Therefore, the dynamic characteristics and reliability study of drive system have very important significance on normal and safe operation of products and reducing maintenance costs of equipment.Around gear system of 5T136 automotive transmission, analyzed gear system’s inherent characteristics by the finite element method, carried out dynamic simulation of the key parts; based on dynamic stress results of each gear pair and each bearing, consider the number of loading, failure dependency and strength degradation respectively, carried out modeling and analysis of the gear system reliability; explored the impact of the main parameters of the gear on gear load capacity. The main work is as follows:Considering meshing stiffness and bearing stiffness, used ANSYS to establish a system of gear-rotor-bearing coupled dynamic model, and to analyze the inherent characteristics of gear system under the third gear working conditions; utilized ANSYS/LS-DYNA to carry out dynamic simulation of each gear pair and bearing and get time history curve of each gear’s contact stress, tooth root bending stress of each gear, and bearing’s contact stress, provided transmission’s reliability analysis for loads information, then analyzed the influence of mesh damping on the gear meshing force and speed on bearing’s contact stress; based on quasi-static method, obtained distributions of stress under random torque’s effect. According to the stress-strength interference theory, regarded the loading process as a random process, the intensity as a random variable, considering the number of loading, failure dependency and strength degradation respectively, carried out modeling and analysis of the gear system reliability; based on three factors and three levels orthogonal experiment method using ANSYS Workbench explored sensitivity of the gear module, helix angle and pressure angle on the gear’s carrying capacity.
