City Park Green Space Layout Research

In the 21st century, rapid development of urbanization requires harmonious development of economy and environment in urban construction. Construction of urban green space is the eco-base of urban construction and it plays an important role on acceleration of ecology city construction. Scientific programme, reasonable evaluation and instruction and rational layouts of urban green space are helpful to exert its ecological function, to realize its comprehensive functions like environmental protection, refreshment, and cultural and educational function. Because of its unique geographic location, distinctive human environment, typical history and some other elements, Tianjin reveals typical characters in development of China’s urban gardens, and cherishes its unique features. So that Tianjin is of great research value. There are lots of problems in the continuous development of Tianjin’s urban gardens. And basic contradiction is from the rapid development of the city and backwardness of garden system construction. Gap between city development and garden system construction is enlarging as economic development of the city is unbalanced. The contradiction appears in every layer of garden construction, such as deficiency of interaction, imbalance of distribution, undersize of service radius, etc. all these existed problems need to be solved.This thesis chooses urban garden as research subject, and mainly focus on development and layouts of urban garden. Based on multi-angle analysis in cultural development and landscape evolution of city gardens in Tianjin, the author combines basic theories and methods about urban green space layouts with research on actual situation of Tianjin city. After data collection and field research, this thesis emphasizes on analyzing and probing of the layouts of gardens’ green space in Tianjin urban area. After the investigation several problems were found in green space layouts, like incompetence of green space network, deficiency of connection between landscape structures, maldistribution of green space plaque in some area, indistinctive of landscapes and so on. Direct at above problems, aiming at improving citizens’life quality, this thesis makes some suggestions on future green space programme and construction of Tianjin, this thesis takes landscape planning programme of Green Water Garden as design practice.The author hopes this thesis can lay theoretical basis for future green space layouts construction in urban gardens.
