Research On The Application Of Wine Culture In The Landscape In Luzhou City

For the past few years, China has made great achievements in landscape architecture, which dramatically improves people’s living environment. However, drawbacks have also arose during the rapid development. By pursuing modern civilization and embracing the western landscape design blindly, modern urban landscapes in our country are short of cultural roots and characteristics, and the original landscapes have also been damaged. In the meantime, the consciousness of regional culture is eroding, the cultural differences among the regions are declining. Our cities are not only losing their own identity, but also unable to meet people’s needs of belonging. So it has a great significance for the development of China’s urban landscape construction and landscape industry to show the feature of the regional culture in the landscape architecture with a scientific expression.In this article, we summarize the basic conceptions of regional culture, critical regional culture, the spirit of place, etc. to support the theoretical part of this paper. Then, based on the relevant literature, we sum up the principles, methods, modes and carriers of how to express the regional culture effectively and reasonably. We systematically comb the history of the development of Luzhou’s wine culture and the reason of this culture’s prosperity, extract the elements which can be used in the landscape design from it. According to these elements above, which are core of Luzhou’s regional culture, we explore the design and expression of them in the landscape architecture, to achieve an urban garden landscape with Luzhou characteristics. Finally, combined with the practical cases of Luzhou Binjiang road and Luzhoulaojiao square, we summarize the problems in their expression of Luzhou’s wine culture and put forward the corresponding solution. From all the points above:1. In the modern landscape design, firstly, it is the basic principle to respect the local natural resources and human resources when we express the regional culture. Secondly, we should exploit the essence of the local culture, to form a design language with the meaning of landscape. Using the design methods of direct expression, Metaphor-Symbolism, scene reconstruction, abstract expression, integration and innovation, etc., and using architecture, sculpture, sketch, paving, plant, color and other factors as the carrier, to provide a new form of landscape design that neither out of touch with the traditional culture, nor fail to keep up with the pace of the development of the world landscape architecture.2. Luzhou’s wine culture has a long history and a profound brewing technology, wich deeply influenced the development of Luzhou for thousands of years. It is the soul and core content of the regional culture of Luzhou. Through field research and analyzing the literature, we give the time venation of Luzhou’s wine culture as follow. The wine culture of Luzhou began in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, then developed in past dynasties after that. The achievements of the wine culture in each stage has been of great importance in terms of Luzhou’s landscape design. It is not incidental that Luzhou has an enduring wine culture, for the reasons of the excellent geographical environment, good climate temperature, fertile soil, high quality water, plenty raw materials of liquor making, well grain quality and long-term policy support. The poems left by literati in the history is the precious wealth of the city development of Luzhou and the regional culture of landscape construction.3.Two most representative and practical themed-by-wine cases in the urban areas of Luzhou Binjiang road and Luzhoulaojiao square are investigated in this article. By analyzing these two cases’ design contents and methods, we summarize that the former has problems like the insufficient of culture carrier and the lack of design method in the expressing of wine culture, the disorder of appearances, being short of proper inner arrangement and demand of more users’ involvement. In the mean time, as the base to spread Luzhou wine culture the latter case do not have enough wine culture content details and literal statement, which causes the sight-seers’ confusion about Luzhou wine culture. On these issues we also generalize some pertinence and operable solutions to offer idea and method for designing landscape architecture with Luzhou local characteristics.
