In recent years, there is no doubt that at the same time of the rapid development of economy, people are increasingly pursuing the quality of life, especially focus on the construction of urban civilization. So enhance the night image of the city has become one of the emphasis work of local governments. And colorful light language can not only enrich the connotation of the city night, but also a kind of the most important way to create a rich cultural atmosphere. There are so many advantages of LED, such as it can be intelligent management, intelligent control and centralized management, which make users can keep the lighting system at any time. With the increase of the number of urban landscape lighting projects, the intelligent lighting control system is becoming more and more important. How to solve the problems existing in the current system, improve the performance of the current system, make its capabilities more perfect, make the functions more completely, and reduce the defects, has profound significance.In this paper, we mainly research the problems of existing intelligent lighting control systems, and complete the development of intelligent lighting control system based on DMX512. In chapter one, this paper introduces the research background, research significance and research status of LED control technology, and generalizes the main contents of this paper. In chapter two, this paper discusses the basic technologies of the system, mainly introduces the software and hardware technologies involved in the design. In chapter three, this paper introduces the overall scheme of the system, and lists the key technologies, which is depended by the design. In chapter four, this paper focus on the hardware design of the LED controller, and introduces the circuit design of each module. In chapter five, this paper focus on the software design, including the process of software, the data structure and the implementation method, specifically include the file system moudle, the data transmission control moudle, the synchronization algorithm moudle, the scene layout software and the user interface. In chapter six, this paper briefly describes the debugging work of the important part in the system, and resolves the encountered issues during practice. In the last chapter, I evaluated the achievements and shortcomings of the design, and expressed a view on function expansion of the control system.The whole intelligent lighting control system is composed of two parts, the lower machine controller and the upper computer software. The upper computer software has graphics-convert function, file format-convert function, circuit-arrange function, online broadcast control function and other functions. In online paly mode, the lower machine controllers can be used to realize the online play by connected to the upper computer, or stored the playlist and program files in the SD cards to play offline. Each controller can output 8 channel of DMX512 signals, each channel can maximumly controls 170 RGB lights or 512 monochromatic lights, suitable to play combination of images. In offline play mode, lower machine controllers can synchronize their system time by get GPS time, to meet the requirements of real-time and synchronous.
