Earthquake is a highly destructive natural disaster, the earthquake resistant design of building structure is particularly important. Steel structure workshop in the industrial construction application is very common, with the advantage of high strength, light weight, flexible space layout and so on. Through the statistics of the previous seismic damage data, it is found that the seismic performance of the steel structure building is better, though few are destroyed. In recent years, performance-based seismic design is very popular in the world. This method is designed to control the performance of the structure at different earthquake levels, to minimize the damage caused by the earthquake. It has more specific and high standard performance goals than the general seismic design.This article takes this thought as the leading thought, a general finite element SAP2000 software is used as an auxiliary tool to carry out structural design and correlation analysis of a heavy steel structure workshop. Through the modal analysis, the natural vibration characteristics of the structure is known. Through the analysis and calculation of the response spectrum of small and medium earthquakes, it is known that the steel structure has good seismic performance, which can meet the performance level under different earthquake levels. Furthermore, the static elastic plastic analysis of the structure under the large earthquake is mainly studied. The effects of different lateral loading modes on the analytical results are compared, and use the deformation and failure of structural members and the inter story drift angle of the structure as evaluation indexes. The structure performance is evaluated by using the method of capacity spectrum. Through the analysis of seismic response of the structure under the three levels, it is concluded that the structure can meet the requirements of performance objectives.In addition, in this engineering structure, the application of new technology is also explored, by replacing the common support with buckling restrained brace in different positions of the structure. By comparing the structural model analysis results of the original structure and the buckling restrained brace, finding that as the buckling restrained brace plays a role in the first line of defense, the structural damage can be lowered, and different arrangement mode has great influence on the structure natural vibration characteristics.Uniform layout is better.Through the analysis and discussion in this paper, it is hoped that the results of the study can be of reference value for relevant design personnel, and promote research on seismic performance of steel structure building in China.
