The rise temperature is directly related to the working performance and economic indicators of the motor, therefore, it is necessary to establish reasonable and effective physical model as computational domain, adopting computational fluid dynamics(CFD) theory in the article can have a numerical simulation for heat flow field of the motor, analysis the characteristics of cooling medium flow and the change rule of flow field and temperature field, which will provide theoretical guidance and important practical value for the similar designs.First, this paper is based on the ventilation cooling research of completed original scheme of 27 MW salient pole synchronous motor. The complete physical model of 1/8 integration ventilation system structure including stator and rotor is established and the flow filed of model is obtained via numerical simulation calculation method(CFD). The characteristics of cooling air of flow distribution, and velocity are analyzed. Certainly, the relative errors that the calculation is accurate between numerical calculation results and experiment results from the factory is within 15%, meeting requirement. Second, based on the flow field through CFD method, solid parts including No.19~21 stator coil are added to the stator. But the rotor contains complete solid parts. The temperature filed of complete physical model of 1/8 integration ventilation system structure is calculated via CFD method. The results show that the temperature of parts of rotor including cooper winding, radiated rib, pole shoe and insulation gradually rises in axial direction. Finally, the effect factors of temperature field of motor are studied. Then changing the stator solid part of the research object to 22~24 slots stator line bar, when stator coil along circle embeds core slot different location, main insulation thickness changes and the stator core back air export location changes, the temperature of stator and rotor is studied. The results indicate that the main insulation thinning is advantageous to the rotor winding copper cooling and the peak temperature reduce 6℃. When the outlet is set above the coil rather than only setting the outlet above the center plane of symmetry, the air volume only increases 17.05%. The peak temperature copper winding reduces 0.66 ℃and Copper winding average body temperature reduces 0.98℃. The cooling effect of stator and rotor of motor is good. The research method and calculation result that the paper obtains to ventilation cooling system for large capacity salient pole motor design and CFD numerical calculation have certain significance.
