| Since it was first built in England, railway has had hundreds of years history.Train,as an important part of the railway system, has a development from the steam locomotive to today’s power emu train with its speed faster and faster and transport capacity more and more huge.Train has become more and more vital in our daily life and economic development.Wear, as a phenomenon which can be seen almost everywhere, is inevitable when the train is operating,especially in the process of rolling contact between wheel and rail, where the wear is very serious.How to reduce the wear has been a hot issue in the field of railway research.Wear between wheel and rail will not only shorten the service life of the train, but also have a severe effect on the safe operation of the train. There is a severe stress concentration in wear area of wheel tread, this area is the main area of crack initiation,if the crack is undetected and continues to expand, it could eventually lead to wheel fracture, causing serious consequences.In addition,wear has severe impact on the continuity and smooth level of the tread, thus affects the stability and comfort level of the train, by turning and replace wheels,it can alleviate the impact of the wear, but at the same time increase the operation cost of the train.So no matter from the perspective of safety or economic,research the wear of the wheel, is very necessary.The ALE(arbitrary Lagrangian eularian) method is a very important analysis of finite element analysis method, different from the Lagrange method which is commonly used in solid-solid analysis, the ALE method can make the meshgrid and material separation, material can be flowing out of the grid in the streamline, using Euler method to describe the rigid motion and Lagrange method to describe the interaction between the deformation body, can significantly reduce grid number of model, improve the computational efficiency, especially suitable for steady-state rolling analysis problem.This article uses the finite element method(ALE)to study wear between the wheel and rail, by finite element modeling, static analysis and the steady state analysis of Abaqus, combined with Archards wear model to study the wear regularity of wheel of CRH5 EMU.Rule of wear of wheel tread and wear distribution along the tread are found, as well as the changes of the stress and the contact spot between wheel and rail.Fatigue life of the wheel is also studied based on static analysis,conclusions show that rim fracture is the main factor of wheel failure of CRH5. |
