| Corrosion phenomena of concrete and reinforcing bar for traditional reinforced concrete(RC) structures happen commonly in long-term use. Compared with traditional RC structures, The RC structures confined by fiber reinforced polymer have more broad prospects. The advantages of the new structures lies in durability in harsh environments of acidity, alkalinity, chlorine salt solution. Moreover, deformation of the structures is reduced, bearing capacity is enhanced, and they have small influence on weight of structures. This paper takes basalt fiber(BFRP) reinforced PVC concrete short column as the research object, and self-compacting recycled concrete is selected as core concrete. Numerical studies are carried out to analyze the axial compression behaviors of BFRP-PVC confined plain concrete short column.Based on the large nonlinear analysis software ABAQUS, finite element model of BFRP-PVC confined self-compacting recycled concrete short column was built and recycled concrete constitutive model was used. Stress-strain relationship curves of experimental and simulation results, phenomena of experiments and the corresponding stress nephograms, and the load-carrying mechanism of BFRP-PVC confined self-compacting recycled concrete short columns are discussed to verify the validity of simulation process. Then, the influence of layers of BFRP bars, wall thickness of PVC pipe, band hoop spacing of BFRP bar and band width of BFRP were studied to analyze the axial compression behaviors of BFRP-PVC confined plain concrete short column. Results are as follows:(1) The established models can well simulate the material properties of test specimens and load conditions. The calculated results agree well with the experimental results. Binding effect of BFRP strip on PVC concrete could effectively improve the ultimate bearing capacity, deformation capacity, and ductility of concrete columns.(2) Layers of BFRP strips influence the bearing capacity of BFRP-PVC regenerative concrete column. The bearing capacity are improved with the increase of number of layers. The increasing rate of bearing capacity is nonlinear, and the increase amplitude is reduced, however. Layers of BFRP strip should not be more than 4 from economic point of view.(3) From the perspective of data, the diameter of PVC tubes have less significant effect on the bearing capacity of BFRP-PVC pipe recycled concrete columns. The thickness of PVC tube affect bearing capacity and deformation of column greatly. The bearing capacity of column is reduced with the decreasing of thickness of PVC pipe.(4) As hoop spacing of BFRP bars band increasing, the bearing capacity of BFRP-PVC pipe recycled concrete columns was decreased. Deformation has the reverse effect, however. It is reasonable to set hoop spacing of BFRP bar band to 20 mm.(5) With the increase of width of BFRP band, the bearing capacity of BFRP-PVC confined self-compacting recycled concrete short column decreases on the same conditions of BFRP reinforcement area. |
