Traditional switch control circuit and train signal lighting circuit were respectively used to complete switch setting and signal lighting, therefore the reliability and safety of them directly affect the driving safety and efficiency. At present, the switch control circuit and signal lighting circuit which is the most commonly used on railway are both belong to relay interlocking system, having a complex system wiring, and the contained mechanical relays are always failed, which leads to a low reliability and a high maintenance cost. With the rapid development of all kinds of new technolofies, intelligent signal equipments are gradually increasing and developed in the direction of electronic, networked, distributed executed and centralized controlled, so it becomes possible using power electronics devices to replace traditional relay. Safety computer has gradually become the core hardware devices of the train control system and the research emphasis of the next generation of train control system.As an important part of the train control system ground safety computer, trackside object controller is the execution unit of the outdoor signal equipment such as signals and turnouts, undertakes the connection between the upper interlocking machine and the outdoor signal equipment. Its design and implementation have important significance in constructing the next generation of train control system safety computer platform, therefore, it’s very necessary to develop an autonomous ground signal system infrastructure.Just under such background, this paper carried out a study of the CTCS ground object controller, which is used instead of traditional relay circuit and interface circuit, to realize the direct control of the point and signal.Firstly, the paper has introduced the research background and significance of the project, and analyzed the research status of the ground object controller at home and abroad. Refer to the working principle of the traditional outdoor signal equipment execution unit, this paper has also analyzed the requirement and design of the object controller, to extract its main circuit working logic, and has adopt Event-B formal method for modeling and verification. Based on this, this paper has put forward the overall design scheme of the ground object controller.Subsequently, learning from the key technology of the traditional railway signal system, and referencing to the working principle of the switch control circuit and signal lighting circuit, this paper has achieved the ground object controller hardware and given a detailed introduction about its components selection, working principle, realization and the security measures used in the design process.Then, this paper has put forward the idea of the software design and used a modular design principle, described the flow charts of each module in detail, focusing on the switch drive module, indication module and signal lighting module, and briefly discussed the software security. On the basis of hardware and software, this paper has completed a functional testing and verification of the ground object controller implemented, and the test results show that the ground object controller designed in this paper can complete the relevant function and achieve the goal of the design purpose.Finally, the paper has elaborated analyzed and validated and tested the reliability, safety, maintainability of the ground object controller, and the calculation result shows that the design meets the requirements of signal equipment safety standards.
