The heritage of historical landscape as the material form of resources of the historical cultural which has important research value. Because of the rapid and large-scale urbanization of the historical urban heritage it’s became into extrusion and fragmentation and isolation conditions. And it is urgent to protect historical and cultural resources. The historical cultural heritage protection under the premise of the multiple perspective research methods and multi-crossed disciplines. At the same time the Cognitive Imagery Theory empirical application in the research of urban planning environmental assessment which has enlightened the strategy of the historical cultural protection. The research methodology of this paper is based on the Cognitive Imagery Theory as the main way to study city images. And how to integrate the fragmentation city images in historical urban area is the corn of paper. However,as the Cognitive Imagery Theory is flawed which can be completed by addition of cognitive survey methods and Space Syntax methodology as auxiliary.At first, according to statistical landscape heritage resources of historical urban area in Changsha. By investigating the historical urban area of image elements and analysis the public image map, it’s able to learn that the recognition degree quality of heritage’s image elements in historical urban area. Using space syntax theory to analysis cognitive space, in search for the space factors of the forming City Image intensity degree.And it can provide objective data analysis of integration of City Image method. At last, to bring forward ways to solve the problem which based on the the Cognitive Imagery Theory and the Space Syntax theory. On the whole space to build a cultural resources space, and in part to increase the degree of image elements. Moreover under the background of the development of the information era, put forward some methods from humanities and social factors.
