This paper is supported by NSFC Project “Research on Multiple Variation and Meshing Mechanism of Dual-phase Hy-Vo Chain”(51305154) and “multi-axis high-speed silent chain system meshing design theory based on complex constraint boundary conditions”(51275207), and Jilin Province Science and Technology Planning Program “Research on Multiphase Hy-Vo Chain System Key Technologies”(20150204075GX). In this paper, dual-phase sprockets and plates are designed and calculated, and the dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system is designed. Mathematical models of the components in the system, multi-body dynamics simulation model of the system and the rigid-flexible coupled model of the system are built. Based on the models, the dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system is simulated, the multibody dynamics characteristics and the rigid-flexible coupled characteristics of dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system are studied.Based on the meshing theory of silent chain, meshing design system of dual-phase sprocket-plate-cutter is built. Based on the design system, inner-outer compound meshing plate, outer meshing plate and the sprockets are calculated and designed. The layout of the whole system is designed.The multi-body dynamics simulation model of the system is simulated under different speeds. Link trajectory, fluctuation quantity of tension side, chain tension, instant transmission error and plate angular velocity of the system are analyzed. The results show that dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system has a good transmission performance. Comparing with the single-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system, dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system has a less transmission error, and the transmission is more reliable.The rigid-flexible coupled model of dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system is built and simplified, and rigid-flexible coupled characteristic of the system is studed. Analysis results show that inner tooth profile of the outer meshing plate does not mesh with sprocket, which is coincident with real situation. Inner-outer compound meshing plate can realize inner-outer compound meshing mechanism effectively, which reflectes good transmission performance. With the operation of the system, the line of engagement between two pins moves up gradually, and it is coincident with the real situation. Besides, the design of the system is reasonable, the distribution of stress and strength of the components can meet the design requirements.By comparing the center distance fluctuation quantity of several dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission systems composed with different meshing mechanism chains, the relationship between the performance of dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system and meshing mechanism is studied. Results show that inner-outer compound meshing plate is superior to outer meshing plate. Besides, the more the inner-outer compound meshing plates, the less the center distance fluctuation quantity of the system,which is coincident with the theoretical analysis.In conclusion, the design and simulation method in this paper about dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system is feasible. Dual-phase Hy-Vo silent chain transmission system has a good transmission performance, and it meet the design requirements well, which is of great importance to further study of dual phase transmission system.
