With the rapid development of the process of cargo transportation, rail transportation plays a more and more important role because of its economic advantages. Uneven wear of brake shoes during the running process is a common problem, which results in the degradation of the running quality and safety of rail transportation and. Taking the problem of eccentric wear of brake shoes as object, the thesis focuses on searching the causes of partial wear of brake shoes from the point of view of mechanism in order to improve the eccentric wear of brake shoes and increase the safety of rail transportation.In this paper, the basic brake device of C64K gondola car was studied from the view of structural analysis, kinematics and dynamics of the mechanism through the method of theoretical analysis and simulation, aiming to find out the causes of the partial wear of brake shoes and then give some suggestion for improvement. The detailed study includes:First is the structural analysis of basic braking device of bogie. Working principle and braking process of the basic braking device of bogie was analyzed. Characteristics of metamorphic mechanism were found during the course of braking and models of the mechanism before and after reconfiguration were established. And then, the degrees of freedom were analyzed and calculated by using the screw theory.Then, the dynamic model of the bogie foundation braking device was established by using the Lagrange method. Its lateral displacement models of front and rear brake beams were calculated by kinetic analysis.Then, the simulation models of the foundation brake device of C64K gondola car were established. The influencing factors on the lateral displacements were analyzed and the simulation schemes were determined. Serials of simulations were carried out on account of above-mentioned single factor, double factors and multi factors. The main factors affecting the partial wear of the brake shoes were obtained on the basis of the analysis and comparison between the simulation results and actual data.Finally, the suggestions to improve the structure of basic brake device of C64K gondola car were putting forward. Simulation of the proposed improving schemes was carried out and the results were evaluated by the approach of the ideal point method and the optimal order method. The final improvement suggestions were given based on the field applications.To sum up, the problem of partial wear of brake shoes were studied from the views of theory and simulation, the main causes of the partial wear of brake shoes were found out. The improvement suggestions were put forward under the comprehensive consideration of the economic and spatial conditions, which provides a potential solution to the problem.
