In this paper,the urban grade classification, layout analysis, relation between Yidao and town planning layout on Inner Mongolia Yuan dynasty are mainly discussed.The townin Inner Mongolia can be divided into three types:metropolitan city, Lu Town, county town.On this basis, from the urban layout can be divided into single city, double City and multi type city.The Characteristics of urban layout in Yuan Dynasty is that towns are located in the Inner Mongolia area, which is a long and narrow strip of land.Cities and towns have a common side with the Central Plains, but also has the unique national characteristics of prairie towns.In addition, many cities and towns distribute along the river’s bank.This shows that it is essentialthat any era of water source for a town is one of the indispensable natural conditions. The main reasons for the formation of the urban layout of the Yuan Dynasty lies in three points:the local administrative organs produced by the political center or the administrative division; both of the location of the administrative organs and the military defense center are exist; to become a religious center or a more developed town in the Yuan Dynasty, because of the belief in the town or the town, and the passion of the Chinese culture.The distribution of towns in Yuan Dynasty is basically in line with the traditional agricultural and pastoral areas. As the main part of the Great Wall in northern China, the economy of Inner Mongolia has always been characterized by agriculture and animal husbandry. The developed traffic station enhanced the political, economic and cultural exchanges between the countries. As the commercial trade of the northern part of the Yuan Dynasty, the commercial trade of the towns in the Yuan Dynasty showed that they played an important role in the commercial trade of the northern part of the Yuan Dynasty on the north side of the Yuan Dynasty.
