With the increasing awareness of environmental protection and energy-saving emission reduction requirements, various industries are not only blindly pursuing economic benefits, but also paying more attention to improve the existing technology, especially the power generation industry which cause serious atmospheric pollution. Since 2012, the National Environmental Protection Department promulgated and implemented the new Atmospheric Pollutant Emission Standard of Thermal Power Plants. The task to reduce coal consumption and nitrogen oxide emissions is becoming more and more explicit, and the index is more and more urgent for Thermal Power Plants. "Treatment after pollution" has been an outdated concept, it is imperative to research on new ideas and technologies of energy-saving and emission-reduction.In order to solve the above urgent needs, the coal-fired power plants should use Operation-optimization Technology of low NOx combustion. The so-called low Operation-optimization Technology of low NOx combustion mainly refers to staged combustion and low oxygen combustion, However, this technique has an excessively high distribution of pulverized coal, it is difficult to achieve the ideal effect, it need to take advantages of the technology of the pulverized coal leveling. In this paper, the technology of velocity measurement of pulverized coal in pipeline was analyzed, which is the core technology of Uniformity regulation of pulverized coal concentration, and summarizes the current solutions postulated by foreign and domestic scholars as well as the present stage of the application of this technology, also this paper puts forward a new velocity measurement system of pulverized coal in pipeline which take advantage of Microwave scattering characteristics and signal correlation. The simulation results show that the system has good detection successful rate and accuracy under the simulation condition, it has better anti disturbance performance for all kinds of noise, and the theoretical accuracy is better than the existing solutions. Then, this paper uses the Verilog language and Xilinx Vivado software to complete the hardware code for this algorithm, with the matching of the hardware circuit to the real system has been measured. The test results show that the system has good test successful rate and accuracy can reach the requirements of the index, which prove that this system has a very high use value.This paper puts forward a new velocity measurement system of pulverized coal in pipeline, which successfully applied the Microwave scattering characteristics to the velocity measurement of pulverized coal in pipeline, and has good detection successful rate and accuracy. Based on this technology, there are a lot of improment space for algorithms, resources and technology, so the system and the detection algorithm have a high application value and development prospects.
