Now, the car as an indispensable part in our daily life has brought great convenience to human. But with the popularity of cars, greenhouse gases and toxic gas emissions and environmental pollution is also growing. In the recent years, our country vigorously develops energy-saving emission reduction and new energy automotive enterprise. New energy vehicles, especially electric vehicle technology has made great success. But the electric power source of the pure electric vehicle mainly depends on the thermal power, the environmental pollution and the energy consumption is still not fundamentally solved. As a new type of energy, solar energy has solved the problem of pollution and energy consumption of traditional power generation. The energy of the solar car required is entirely by solar panels convert solar energy into electricity to provide.This paper mainly researches the working principle structure and the control system of the solar car. Based on the study of the previous generations of solar cars in interest groups, I design for the solar car power system structure of 4kW and the development of the car performance parameters. Through the study of solar car powertrain control, select the appropriate motor and to develop the power transmission structure of the solar car. Research on energy management system of solar car to determine the photovoltaic panels and battery selection and matching calculation, selected based on DC/DC converter with MPPT maximum power tracking and battery charging and discharging control system design and energy allocation strategy. Testing and evaluation of the overall performance of the solar car are analyzed by ADVISOR software, verified the rationality of the vehicle design.
