At all events, it is necessary to discuss the stakes between new energy andtraditional energy in today’s society. Our world is facing a series of threats by the fossilfuel-based energy systems, for instance, resource depletion, environmental pollution,ecological degradation, climate change, etc. New energy is good for relieving thisproblem. Solar energy has been advanced energy and has wide application prospects. It ischaracterized by sustainable, clean, broad distribution, etc. It will become the backboneof the sustainable energy systems in the future. In the process of development of solarenergy, however, the key to the technology is to solve the problem of inefficiencies inenergy transfer. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technology can increase thetransformation rate effectively, and improve the efficiency of the use of solar energygreatly.Independent photovoltaic cells and MPPT technology are the targets of this study.The theory and simulation technology of solar photovoltaic maximum power trackingcontrol technology have been determined and are outlined below.Finally,this will beachieved by the hardware.First, the solar photovoltaic systems are introduced. According to the equivalentcircuit models, and electrical characteristics of the solar cell, using the Matlab/Simulinkbuild the model of the PV array. Second, at through analyzing the solar photovoltaicsystem, the maximum power of the tracking of the PV system is realized by changing theduty ratio of the DC/DC circuit for changing the output voltage and design MPPT thehardware circuit, including the BOOST main loop and the MSP430MCU as the corecontrol circuit. Third, according to researching and analyzing the MPPT control method,several common MPPT control methods are described briefly. On account of the problemin the algorithm, the fuzzy PID control is proposed, and the fuzzy PID controller isdesigned, and the algorithm method is simulated. In order to further improve the conversion efficiency, the mechanical methods are used for automatic tracking of the sun.Finally, the results of the research work that have done are analyzed and summarized.
