As an important part of the high-speed railway technology research, the relationship between pantograph and catenary is of great importance to guarantee the stable current collection and safe operation of the train. Vertical vibration, longitude impact, lateral oscillation, pan-head nodding and rolling, sliding friction, arc. contact wire unevenness and etc. may cause current collection dropping, structural damage and abnormal wear of material, which are closely related to the pantograph/catenary dynamics behavior. This article is mainly based on the pan-head moving attitude and the pantograph/catenary contact morphology during the current collection and the longitude impact influence is also considered. The main research content is as follows:Firstly, the pantograph/catenary dynamics platform is built based on the modal superposition method. The catenary model, pantograph model, contact model and the pantograph/catenary coupling solving process are introduced in detail and the correctness of the platform is verified based on EN50318. By introducing the Hertz Contact model describing the multi-body system collision derived by Lankarani into the platform, the impact of the related parameters of the contact model is analyzed and the values of which during the simulation are determined.Secondly, depending on the platform, the influence of the pan-head moving attitude to the current collection quality is analyzed by deriving the dynamic differential equations considering the pan-head nodding and rolling attitude. Then, by considering the impact of the morphology of the contact wire, the corresponding pantograph/catenary contact model is derived. Also the pan-head morphology is analyzed by considering the position of the contact point on the pan-head.Finally, based on the differential equations of the pantograph framework derived from the Lagrange equation, the pantograph/catenary coupling dynamic equations of the nonlinear pantograph multi-body model are derived. The dynamic performance of multi-body pantograph model is compared with that of the lumped mass model. On this basis, the pantograph/catenary plane coupling dynamic model considering longitude impact is built by introducing the pantograph/catenary longitude impact, and the current collection quality of which is analyzed. The results show that the nodding attitude has little influence on the current collection, while the rolling attitude could lower the pantograph/catenary impact; The morphology of the contact wire causes greater oscillation of the contact force. The double slider pantograph shows better current collection quality than the single slider pantograph. The morphology of the pan-head has bad but small influence on the current collection; The multi-body pantograph model and the lumped mass model are in good agreement in low speed while the multi-body pantograph is more accurate in high speed. For the dynamic model considering longitude, the morphology of the contact wire causes greater oscillation of the vertical and longitude contact force. The pantograph/catenary longitude impact has good influence on current collection in the open direction while bad influence in the closed direction.
