Electrified railwaycatenary is thebridgebetween electricity power and electric train, so the normal performance or not of catenary directly relates to the normal performance or not of the rail. Statistics show thatoperation failures of electric train are mostly caused by failures of catenary, and failures of catenary are mostly caused by insulators pollution flashover. In order to guarantee the normal performance of electric train, it’s a necessary work to maintain the insulators timely.At present, most maintenance work of insulators is finished by workers, few by semi-mechanization. Both ways can’t be done without workers, so it’s inefficient and laborious. It can’t meet the demands of the quick development of electric train. Based on these facts, the paper proposes a new insulators washing equipment.The washing mechanism which controls a spray gunand powered by hydraulic is the key part of the equipment.it truly liberates the worker’s hands, whichnot only reduces the work intensity but also improves the flushing efficiency. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The paper determines the overall structure of the washing equipment. It is made of flat car, washing device, water tank, control room, hydraulic system etc.(2) By using MATLAB, The paper completes the optimization design of hydraulic cylinder hinge point of washing device under transport state. The optimization result shows that the sum reduction of two forces is 357N and the reduction rate is 12.0%.(3) By using ANSYS Workbench, The paperaccomplishes static and dynamic analysis of the washing device. The static analysis results show that the maximum stress of the telescopic arm is 115.8MPa, less than the allowable stress 259.4MPa,and the total deformation of it is 0.79mm and small compared with the critical total deformation which is f=43.00mm of the telescopic boom of the truck crane,so there are some lightweight design spaces of the structure.The dynamic analysis results show that the washing device has a good the dynamic performance, and the structure is reasonable.(4) By using ANSYS Workbench, The paperachieves optimization design results of the cross section parameters of the telescopic arm of the washing device. The results show thatthe quality of the telescopic armis reduced by 26.2kg and achieve reduction rate of 26.9% compared with before.(5) By using ANSYS Workbench, The paperaccomplishes static and dynamic analysis of the washing device again. The static analysis results show that the the maximum stress of the telescopic arm is increased from 115.8MPa to 153.4MPa,but still less than the allowable stress 259.4MPa,and the total deformation is increased from 0.79mm to 1.15mm, but still small compared with the critical total deformation which is f=43.00mm of the telescopic boom of the truck crane. The dynamic analysis results show that the washing device has a good dynamic performance, and the structure is reasonable.So lightweight design results meet the requirements of static and dynamic characteristics of the structure, and the optimization results are feasible.
