Connecting rod fracture splitting technology emerged in the 1990 s, it is used the chipless fracture method to separate the cover from the connecting rod body, the three key manufacturing procedure of this technology is machining stress groove,the big hole directional breaking and constant torque bolting. This process has gradually become the mainstream of the connecting rod processing technology which is simple,low pollution, higher machining efficiency and quality. Foreign connecting rod fracture splitting technology is mature, has developed a complete fracture splitting equipment production lines, and in domestic started relatively late, the developed device has many disadvantages, therefore, developing the connecting rod fracture splitting equipment with independent intellectual property rights, high technical content and reliability is urgency.In 2005 Guangdong university of technology advanced a new theory of wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) with free-wearing wire processing the connecting rod cracking groove,it can effectively reduce the machining cost and has higher practical and promotion value, Currently the forth generation double-station of connecting rod stress groove cutting machine in WEDM can achieve processing the v-shaped slot of two connecting rod at the same time. The machine is mainly composed of mechanical system,short circuit test system,working liquid filtration system and electrical control system.In this article, through the analysis of the working process of the machine tool and machining conditions, accomplishing the original design of short circuit test system, working liquid filtration system and electrical control system, and the whole control system consists of microcomputer, PLC and human-computer interface (EQvfl). The experiment results show that the control system can meet the quality requirements of rod cracking groove machining, and machine tool processing efficiency is higher, comply with the requirements of connecting rod production.Connecting rod breaking machine is the one core equipment of connecting rod fracture splitting technology,at the beginning of 2015, Guangdong university of technology successfully developed the second generation of connecting rod breaking machine. The machine tool overcomes the hydraulic system trivial, abuses power instability, poor adaptability of first generation of breaking machine tool,and can effectively enhance connecting rod expansion process simplicity and high efficiency. In order to realize assembly-control of this machine tool and stress groove cutting machine,therefore redesigned its electrical control system, finally debugged connecting rod breaking machine tool and processed for many times, the experimental results show that the automation and high reliability of equipment can satisfy the requirement of the connecting rod.The combination of the forth generation double-station of connecting rod stress groove cutting machine and connecting rod breaking machine can promote the development of domestic connecting rod cracking semi-automatic production line, to promote connecting rod fracture splitting technology have created favorable conditions.
