First of all, an introduction of the development of steel trussed arch bridge in China and abroad is reviewed. Besides that the characteristics of steel trussed arch bridge are summarized. Aiming at a 216m span urban steel trussed arch bridge, a scheme design and comparison of orthotropic steel bridge deck, section of components, web member system and rise-span ratio. Using element software MIDAS/CIVIL to build beam elements for main girder refer to the basic principle of beam grillage, trussed arch is built by the beam elements, and suspender cable is built by truss elements. Internal stress and force, displacement under dead load and combined action of vehicle load, crowd load, non-motor vehicle load, temperature gradient, temperature system and horizontal wind load etc of the bridge structure are analyzed. Free vibration characteristics are analyzed by using Lanczos method. The actions of earthquake are analyzed by spectrum and time-history. Finally, using the general finite element software AGLOR to establish a combined finite element model, containing plate elements and solid elements. Stress distribution and deformation of the main members and the arch hinge are analyzed sufficiently.
