Binsui Line(Harbin-Mudanjiang) is one line of China’s northeast railway network, whose capacity could reach 90 million tons. It is administered by Mudanjiang Track Maintenance Division, Harbin Railways Bureau and crosses Zhang Guangcai Ridge, where the climate is cold and belongs to seasonal frozen soil region. In seasonal frozen soil region, the subgrade soil turns to be frost heaving and thawing in cycles, which leads to track geometry ultralimite and harms the safety of an operating train.According to the analysis of the sungrade frost heaving characteristics of Binsui Line, and taking topography, hydrology and geology data of into consideration, this article analyses the causes and characteristics of subgrade frost heaving, classifies and mainly introduces several harnessing measures of subgrade frost heaving, including elevated rail and lay drain, injecting salt and lay heat insulation equipment, and it also analyses the effects of these harnessing measures and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of these measures. According to the analysis of the effects of the measures, it comes to the conclusion that these harnessing measures can provide reference for Harbin Railway Bureau, can improve the governance of subgrade frost heaving, can reduce the ccurrence of frost heaving problem and the track maintenance costs and guarantee the safty of Heilongjiang Eastern railway, which is rather meaningful to all.
