Design Of Motor-driven Aircraft Lightning Waveform Generator Control System

To be convenient for aircraft lightning test in field, a motor-driven aircraft lightning waveform generator was developed. This system can generate three lightning waveforms according to the standard, including waveform A for lighting direct effect testing, waveform A for lightning indirect effect testing and waveform H. The control system is the important component of this system, to achieve the function of automatic control and remote visual operating for the waveform.The aircraft lightning waveform generator and control system are described in this paper. The structure design and program of the control system are introduced in detail. The control system can operate the generator to charge and discharge and monitor real-time in the testing. The system is simply and convenient to operate, high automation degree, safety and reliable. The main work of this paper is as follows:In the first, the paper resumes the background of the aircraft lightning protection test, the meaning and investigation status of the generator developing project, then the overall design scheme of the generator and control system are proposed.Then this paper introduces the circuit design of the waveform generator and the structure of control system. The waveform generator is made up of charging circuit, storage capacitor and discharging circuit. The control system includes voltage regulating control console, PLC, capacitor voltage measuring module, control computer and optical fiber communication system, etc.At last the programming of PLC and generator monitoring software is introduced. PLC is applied to control switch in the circuit of the generator, and achieve the function of charging and discharging. The monitoring software can complete status monitoring the whole generator and visual operating.The result show that this waveform generator can generate required test lightning waveform, and the waveform parameter meet the test requirement.
