It is of great significance to improve the safety and reliability of the distribution network operation through testing and fault diagnosis of the working condition of electric equipment for power distribution network, so as to discover hidden danger of accidents for electrical equipment and power distribution system. Under the joint action of internal high voltage, high electric field and external environment pollution and equipment manufacturing defects, power distribution lines and the insulation weak link of equipment will produce partial discharge. At the same time, due to the large amount of equipment, complex circuit and high fault rate of power distribution network, the development of a partial discharge detection instruments to realize the fast inspection of power distribution system is of good practical significance, and this topic is put forward based on the requirements.This paper deeply analyzes ultrasonic, partial discharge, the relationship between partial discharge and ultrasonic, also characteristics and applications of ultrasonic sensor. It also emphatically analyzes and designs the structure, parameters and the implementation scheme of the ultrasonic sensors based on the inspection of distribution network, moreover, designs the partial discharge fast inspection device for the remote power distribution system based on ultrasonic.Partial discharge detection main engine of the inspection device can plug and play with the sensor through cable. It also can be used to receive ultrasonic audio signal and waveform chart gathered by the sensor, at the same time, outputing audible sound and intuitive waveform chart. Combined with discharge acoustic wave received by the sensor, as well as temperature and humidity in the environment, it thus can conduct rapid diagnosis, assessment, calculation and eventually, derive results of the equipment insulation extent, intuitively and conveniently. Besides, with the method of combining field test and laboratory test, it thus can prove that only by confirming the size of the degradation figure, the inspection personnel can conclude the severity of partial discharge of the device under test. At the same time, it also verifies the effectiveness of the partial discharge fast inspection device for the remote power distribution system based on ultrasonic designed by this project.
