Development Of The Interval Measurement System Calibration Device Based On Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)

With the increasing of vehicle speed, the probability of traffic accidents increases too. Moreover, once there is a traffic accident, higher the vehicle speed is, greater damage it will cause. So traffic regulations have provided maximum vehicle speed for different road in order to reduce traffic accidents and the damage caused by accidents. The road speed monitoring system monitors the road seamlessly all day along, provide a guarantee for the effective implementation of traffic regulations. The relevant measurement department test the road speed monitoring system regularly to make sure its accuracy in application and law. The main topic of this research is to provide a speed monitoring system test equipment with high-precision, full-feature, stable performance and simple operation for revelant measurement department.Observe and measure the Doppler frequency shift of the GPS signal can measure the distance traceled and movement speed of an obejct accurately. Its accuracy is higher than normal speed monitoring system and it can be used as a standard source to calibrate the road speed monitoring system. The main work of this research is to study various methods and theories for road speed measure, design and setup a range speed monitoring system using GPS system. The system includes a wireless LED screen, a wireless GPS measurement host computer and software on PC. This system is capable of measuring the travle time, the instantaneous speed, the relative position and the travel distance of the vehicle, measure the objects 10 times per second, display and store the real-time data. After the measurement of a range road, we can easily select a time or a time period and check the time, the travel distance, the speed and the average speed by a computer software. The wireless connection technology used on the entire system greatly simplifies the installation and debugging of the system.
