Nowadays, as energy crisis and environmental problems increasing, the energy structure optimization, environmental protection and sustainable development has aroused widespread concern and promoted strategy transformation of electric industry. The energy revolution with the electric power at the center began. Against this background, it’s a common choice to work on smart grid, which can be strong, self-healing, compatible, economical, integrated, optimized. To install smart terminal——smart meter is an important step in building smart grids. However, most of the meter currently used is not desirable for the development of smart grid. And it is hard to satisfy the needs of smart power utilization, especially for communications of micro-power, low-power dissipation, low-cost, supporting two-way interaction and compatible distributed powers. The research is to research and design on three-phase smart meters system based on ZigBee wireless communication in a short distance.Firstly, after analyzing the current situation and the development trend of electric energy meter, this paper points out the function limitation of traditional mechanical meter and electronic watt-hour meter, and explains the importance to research and design on smart meters. This paper analyzes the development and application of the ZigBee communication technology, and then expatiates the necessity of smart meter based on the ZigBee communication technology.Secondly, based on the design orientation, the system chooses relevant preferences, and expatiates its functions. After analyzing the basic principle and the implementation scheme of the optional hardware, this subject chooses the fitting hardware.Thirdly, this paper elaborates the overall hardware design scheme, and then expatiates the design of the power supply circuit, heavy-current circuit, low-current circuit, and ATmega128control module, ATT7022A three-phase electrical energy measuring module, LCD display module, FM1702SL RF-IC card read-write module, ZigBee wireless communication module, relay control module in the low-current circuit. Then it discusses the principle and the implementation scheme of each module circuit in detail, designs the schematic diagram and the printed circuit board design.Fourthly, based on the hardware principle, the overall software design scheme is described. Then it discusses the software functions in detail, include energy metering module, RF-IC card read-write module, wireless communication module, and the corresponding software flowchart is given.Fifthly, the reason and characteristics why electronic circuits and devices is susceptible to jammed, was analyzed and put forward a comprehensive set of anti-jamming measures in terms of hardware and software.The actual run result indicates the three-phase smart meters system based on ZigBee wireless communication in a short distance technology can achieve the functions such as energy metering, ZigBee wireless communication, RF-IC card prepayment, multi-rate pricing, LCD display steadily. The system has rather strong anti-jamming characteristics, and all functions reach the expected design requirements.
