Since BIM(Building Information Modeling) theory was proposed in 2002, it has been widely applied in the scheme presentation, construction simulation and engineering management of engineering projects. In recent years, the research on the generation of structural analysis model from BIM, to simplify the modeling work due to the adjustment of the scheme, has been carried out in the field of architectural and structural engineering. At present, in the field of excavation engineering, BIM is mainly applied in the scheme presentation and construction simulation. Little work is carried out in the connection between the structural analysis model generated from BIM and the current design method of excavation engineering. Excavation engineering has the characteristics of dynamic design. The work in the connection between the structural analysis model generated from BIM and the current design method of excavation engineering has the important practical significance on the convenient adjustment and optimization of design and the quality enhancement of design.For pile-strut bracing structure of excavation, this paper studies the information representation technique of modelfiles of Archi CAD and SAP2000 and proposes the IFC-based method of generation of SAP2000 structural analysis model from BIM.Based on Visual Studio 2010 platform, the model transformation program Archi CAD To SAP2000 is developed in this paper.An application case is given in this paper. The results of the case study show that: 1) The program can accurately extract the geometric position and section information of pile, column, capping beam, waling and strut in excavation information model to generate SAP2000 geometry model of excavation; 2) The joint restraints of piles and columns, the line springs of capping beams and wales, the joint springs of passive zone soil and the loads of water and soil pressure can be added to SAP2000 geometry model of excavation through the program to generate SAP2000 analysis model of excavation.According to the results of thecase study, the rationality and applicability of the model transformation method and program are verified.
