Loess is sediments of Quaternary in arid semi-arid regions, it’s feature is porous and it have weakly cemented columnar jointed large pore structure, it have the higher proportion of land area in our country, and it mostly in the central and western of China. In the construct of "the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road", the more and more construction is related the loess. For the emergence of these phenomena, the research about loess, especially the strength of loess, will have a positive impact on the construction in the loess plateau. This research through consolidation test and direct shear quick shear test, research feature of intensity between consolidated remolded loess and over-consolidated remolded loess, analysis the influence of the initial water content and the ratio of over consolidation on remolded loess strength characteristics. The results are as follows:(1) The compression of normal consolidation loess raise with increasing initial water content; stress-displacement curve showed a hardening at different initial water content, shear strength curve is proportional function, shear strength decrease with increasing initial water content.(2) For over-consolidated remolded loess, stress-displacement curve is similar to normal, there are peak and the curve becomes softening when the over-consolidated ratio is very large; shear strength package line is not through the origin of coordinates. At the same vertical pressure, the relation between shear strength and water content is a function of power, Shear strength decreases with increasing water content, Shear strength reduce significantly when the water content is large.(3)The relation between over-consolidated loess shear strength and overconsolidated ratio is a function of power; at the same preconsolidation pressure, shear strength decreases with increasing water content; at the same water content, the bigger pre-consolidation pressure, the upper shear strength and over-consolidation ratio curve. It showed that in the same moisture content and over-consolidation ratio, the bigger pre-consolidation pressure, the bigger the shear strength.(4)Analysis of shear strength of normally consolidated loess,Increase moisture content causes an reduce infriction angle. For overconsolidated shear strength analysis. When increasing the moisture content of the sample, Increases so that loess cohesion and internal friction angle of the moisture content is reduced, Minimizing internal friction angle is negligible, Overconsolidated loess shear strength depends mainly on the size of the cohesion.
