With the development of information technology and Internet technology, the traffic information environment is dramatically different compared to the past:the number of travel service information is increased rapidly, the content of information is much more diversified and the way of obtaining that information is also changed. According to the literature, the degree of demand for different travel information is not the same to all travelers, and the reasons come from several aspects. However, most studies discuss the private cars and public transport separately and consider the change of traffic information environment inadequately, which cause the limitation on the content of information and the discussion of user groups.Therefore, on the basis of the practical multi-variate information environment in which travelers are, this paper identifies the multi-variate traffic information, studies the travelers’ choices of the traffic information and investigates the mechanism how the impact factors influence information demand. The main assignment and conclusions are as follow:Firstly, the travel service information included in the relative research of travel information at domestic and abroad, domtestic ATIS(Advanced Traveler Information Service) and travel service application products on the Internet and mobile Internet is analyzed, and the specific contents of 30 different multi-variate travel information are sort out and determined.Secondly, a Stated Preference (SP) investigation about the travelers’ demand of the 30 multi-variate travel information is designed and implemented, which obtain the travelers’ attributes of personal social and economic feature and trip feature and travelers’ degree of demand for the 30 multi-variate travel information. Then, the travelers’ information usage feature is studied by statistical analysis method, and the difference of single kind of information’s degree of demand in the sample group is obtained, which provides longitudinal dimension for the alternative set when building key information choice model.Thirdly, by the means of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), the 30 multi-variate travel information in 4 situations is classified based on the relativity of all information’s score. On the basis of the factor score of the results of classification, all categories’ degree of demand in 4 situations are obtained, which indicate the demand difference of individual sample to the 30 multi-variate traffic information and provide lateral dimension for the alternative set when building key information choice model.Finally, the set of key information choice is determined based on the two dimensions mentioned before. According to the set, the choice mechanism of individual key information is proposed, and the key information choice’s MNL model is built where the independent variables are the attributes of personal social and economic feature and trip feature while the dependent variable is the choice of individual key information. Moreover, the parameters of the model are standardized. The factors that have great influence on the choice of the key information are obtained by investigating the standardized results, and this paper explained the results.
