Typical icing detection systems have some shortcomings and hidden dangers. Aircraft icing display system based on information fusion technology was designed for this problem. This system can show more accurate aircraft icing status, include important components heating status, de-icing system status, current flight performance analysis, stall angle of attack, icing position and distribution display, ice shape display, etc.The principle of icing and its impact of flight performance were analyzed, and the placement of icing sensor was determined. A new icing severity grading method was presented based on the typical classification of icing severity. This method have five parameters, kl-, klmax-, kd+, ka- and Ik. These four parameters were calculated by ice thickness(Ik), maximum lift coefficient(Clmax), lift coefficient(Cl), drag coefficient and stall angle of attack(astall).Icing level neural network model was established based on information fusion technology. The simulation result shows that this model can identify icing status and its impact on flight performance.The aircraft icing display system was designed and simulated. The simulation result shows that this system can provide the crew more comprehensive information of current icing and de-icing system status information. The crew can also get a control reference from this system.
