With the development of modern informational and intelligent industry, the power grid will need to be more strong to meet its request. Based on internet of things (IOT), smart grid includes advanced sensor technology, communication technology, information and control technology. Now, there are some questions in electrical equipment condition monitoring in China, such as a few measurement data, a part of measurement information, low system reliability and so on. The fusion of radio frequency identification technology (RFID) in IOT and wireless sensor network is applied on electrical equipment condition monitoring system, the electrical equipment can be intelligent identification, location, monitoring and management. And electrical equipment condition information acquisition real-time, reliability and accuracy in smart grid can be improved. IOT is applied on electrical equipment monitoring system in transmission and substation, which will be of great significance for the application of RFID in power system and smart substation construction.The research on the application of smart grid based on IOT is introduced, the fusion of tag and sensor is used to be information acquisition of electrical equipment condition. And an architecture of electrical equipment condition monitoring system is established. The electromagnetic wave can be affected by electromagnetic shielding of electrical equipment metal shell in substation, so channel electromagnetic wave propagation between sensor-tag and reader will be affected by multi-path and the received signal will be interfered. Based on the problem, first of all, the characteristic of electromagnetic wave is analyzed, and an electromagnetic propagation path loss model is established. Second, multi-antenna RFID system is put forward to resolve multi-path effect. And a communication channel model of multi-antenna RFID monitoring system is established in substation. Besides, the influence factors of multi-antenna RFID monitoring system is analyzed in substation, and some installation notes of multi-antenna RFID system are proposed.Based on the collision of sensor-tag in multi-antenna RFID monitoring system in substation, a new anti-collision algorithm is proposed. With the comparison of the new algorithm and traditional algorithm, the superiority of new algorithm is proved, which can effectively improve the performance of system.
