The speeding up of urbanization has given rise to the prosperity of HOPSCA(Hotel, Office, Park, Shopping mall, Convention, Apartment, short as HOPSCA in the following passages), yet high energy consumption generated along with it’s quick and convenience. The design of HOPSCA focuses more on interior space rather than outdoor walking space which is the indispensable part of pedestrian’s activity place, the thermal environment quality directly affect the pedestrian’s thermal comfort experience. In this paper, by means of theoretical analysis and experimental research, the HOPSCA outdoor walking space thermal environment status of Nanning is measured to find out the problems existing in the design of HOPSCA outdoor walking space, and strategy researches are made for some places which can be optimized. The main work and conclusions of this paper are as follows:First of all, based on the theory of outdoor thermal environment and so on, some factors which influent HOPSCA outdoor walking space thermal environment are analyzed, including geometric characteristics and climate and others. Then researches are made on Nanning typical HOPSCA and Zhengheng Square is selected as the research object because of its multi-space design The outdoor walking space is measured and the Rayman model is adopted to analyze thermal comfort value according to these measured data.The measured data show that:1)the shading effect of commercial building arcade depends on the ratio of adjacent pedestrian space. Bigger pedestrian space ratio can produce the cover in the vertical direction, as a result, more shading effect works on the arcade; on the contrary, less shading effect works on the arcade; 2) underground pedestrian street is a great architectural form in cool storage. Its physio logical equivalent temperature of PET in noon is 33.3-34.8 ℃, at the same time period, the PET of pedestrian street on the floor average 41.4-51.5 ℃, which has a higher heat experience than underground pedestrian street; 3) HOPSCA’s outdoor pedestrian street within the air curtain at the entrance of the mall, to a certain extent, can improve the local air flow of walking space outdoor. A mall with 2meters width entrance can make the wind speed up to 1.7 m/s within 1.5 meters in the pedestrian street.The main optimization strategy for HOPSCA outdoor walking space proposed in this paper is to increase the continuous membrane structure to protect from the sun and use the air curtain resources to improve the local air flow.
