Research On Thermal Environment Analysis And Design Strategy Of Outdoor Public Space

The comfort degree of outdoor public space in the city is an important symbol to measure the level of people's living quality. With the increase of people's material and living standard, people have had higher demands to the comfort degree of outdoor public space. Creating excellent thermal environment in the outdoor public space is a significant aspect which can advance the whole quality of the outdoor public space, improve the image of cities and raise people's social living standards as well.This article states the concept, type, features and trends of the urban outdoor public space; analyses the related and influence factors of thermal environment in the outdoor public space ; discusses and compares the influence on the thermal environment of outdoor public space in the urban planning, architectural design and landscape design; divides outdoor public space into three basic ones, passing space, distribution space and recreational space, and discusses their functional features, thermal environment features and applicable thermal environment improvement measures.This thesis surveys and measures representative the passing space and recreational space, compares and verifies the effect of improvement measures on the thermal environment of urban outdoor public space. Street trees are effective measures to improve the thermal environment, and the thermal environment of sidewalk with street trees is better than one without. This thesis analyses and compares the improving results of sun-shading precautions on the thermal radiation and temperature in outdoor public space .Based on existing theories and field surveys, the thesis proposes the outdoor public space thermal environment design ideas: First, it analyses the situation and the basic attributes of the thermal environment of the Square space, that is ventilation and shade and so on. Based on this, proposes preliminary programme on the flow of people and space layout of the Square , with combination to Square's functions. Then divides Square space into passing space, distribution space and recreational space according to distribution and activities of people. After that ,it further analyses capacity, vision, shading, ventilation of each space and space requirements of the users. Green and decorate with other visual layout, and add other supporting facilities shade where there can't use the green shade. Finally, set the Three Gorges Square as an example to do attempt about thermal environment design of Square space. This article discusses the thermal environment design of urban outdoor public space based on the Three Gorges Square, and gives some reference and advice on the transformation of existing urban outdoor public space and urban outdoor public space thermal environment.
