Due to its simple structure, low inertia, high power density, high efficiency and high power factor, reliable operation, the servo system based on permanent magnet synchronous motor has been widely used in many fields such as daily life, industrial production and national defense. However, the output performance of the servo system is affected because of the parameters’change of the PMSM during its running. Therefore, the study on adaptive control strategy of PMSM is done in this paper, it can dramatically improve the performance of the servo system, and also has great practical significance. Its main contents are as follows.Firstly, based on the principle of coordinate transformation, the mathematical model of the PMSM in different coordinate system is analyzed and derived. By analyzing and comparing principles and advantages of different rotor field oriented control strategies, the PMSM’s vector control system was built based on the vector control strategy of id=0.The configuration and mathematical model of PMSM vector control system is given and its working process is analyzed. Furthermore, under MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation platform, the simulation model of the system is built and some research by simulation is made.Secondly, based on forgetting factor recursive least squares, the online identification method of PMSM’s parameters is proposed, and also the self-tuning strategy of PI regulator in the current loop and the speed loop is proposed based on the method of frequency characteristic analysis. The adaptive PI regulator is presented to replace the traditional PI regulator. According to the structure of the PMSM vector control system, its simulation model is built to confirm the validity of the system.Finally, the hardware and the software of the system are designed based on TFs DSP chip which type is TMS320F2812 and Mitsubishi’s IPM which type is PM150RL1A120. The experimental platform for the PMSM’s adaptive control system is established, which focuses on the software’s implementation including the adaptive PI regulator algorithms. A lot of experiments are conducted under the platform and The experiment results prove the validity of the adaptive PI regulator algorithms and verify fine dynamic performance of the system.
