Permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) are now widely employed in industrial servo drives, electrical/hybrid electric vehicles, and Robot etc, due to high control performance. However, control performance are degradative as parameters variation which caused by the temperature rise and flux saturation. So, many control strategies are designed for PMSM parameters on-line identification. The main purpose of this paper is to design a PMSM online identification and adaptive control system based on DSP TMS320F2812.In this study, vector control of PMSM is the basis of the whole system. The parameters of current controllers in vector control are tuned by the parameters from online parameter identification algorithm. And the online identification algorithm is developed from the recursive least squares (RLS) method. The more details about research contents are as follows:1. According to the mathematical models of PMSM, the PMSM simulation module is built. And the vector control system of PMSM is set up in Matlab/Simulink. Some simulations are done in Matlab to verify the performance of this system. Simulation waves show that the system performance is good.2. The online parameter identification method for PMSM based on recursive least squares method is obtained through the analysis of steady-state mathematical model of PMSM and recursive least squares method. The simulation results of parameter indentifation algorithm are given.3. Several methods of adaptive control are introduced. Then a current PI controller parameters self-tuning algorithm is developed. This algorithm can tune the parematers of the controller online by the indentifacation result.4. The hardware and software systems of this actual system are introduced. The hardware includes the main circuit, sample circuits, power supply and control board. The software is showed by some flowcharts. The Experimental waveforms are given.5. Finally, the summarization of this research about permanent magnet synchronous motor parameter identification and adaptive control algorithm is given, and the future work and research is conceived.
