Design Study On Taiwan Historic Buildings-Leputing Garden Activation Reconstruction

The utilization of historic buildings activation has become Taiwan’s mainstream protection mode under the influence of the movement to protect the building. It is distinguished from the conventional museum-style protection. Whereas, the activation utilization has became one part of modern life with the life force of this era and historical values. As a long-history province,Taiwan has left many valuable historical buildings scattered in the streets after the complex changes of the times. But because that there is no one readying to repair it, many architectures are abandoned in most states. Taipei government has implemented the "Old House Cultural Movement" program in 2012, which is allowed to reproduce elegance in a manner of activated restoration of historical buildings. It is one of the historical architecture which is successfully activated for commercial premises in Leputing Garden, 2nd North Road of Hangzhou, Taipei City. Its predecessor was Japanese dormitory during the Japanese occupation,which has one-century history. The Leputing has shared the innovative“pure” idea with the old houses, which has impressed the professional and pure aesthetic point of view to wards Japanese garden master. Combined with modern design elements, it has created a delicate and touching beautiful scenery. It has relived successfully under the influence of Japanese restaurants with the help of government and folk team. It integrates Urban the "scene, food, art" multi-element into the resting place of city travelers.The paper focuses on the function and forms of the Leputing, designing and analyzing it from the perspective of architecture, inner house and garden. I will learn relevant skills and experience, exploring more possibilities of the utilization of historic buildings activation.
