In recent years, with the development of shipbuilding industry in the world, the size of the ship power system is expanding and electric equipment quantity and variety become more and more. All kinds of nonlinear load, impacting load and the power system faults have serious impacts on the quality of power supply of ship power system. How to provide high quality and reliable power for equipments of the ship has become an important research topic in the research field of ship power system. The static transfer switch is a kind of economic and feasible solution.This paper designs a kind of intelligent static transfer switch controller based on DSP and FPGA. This design Includes electricity detection, power quality evaluation, transistor trigger, dual power supply switching, intelligent alarm, circuit protection, parameter setting, communication networking function and so forth. And it focuses on power quality detection technology, dual power switch technology and system design issues.(1) real time detection and evaluation of power qualityIt mainly includes the power of electrical parameters acquisition based on MAX 125, and conventional electric energy quality index calculation, voltage sag detection and power quality comprehensive evaluation method.(2) real-time dual power switchIt mainly explore a feasible static transfer switch commutation method including design of dual power converter circuit, design of digital trigger based on FPGA, design of state machine and design of pulse driving circuit.(3) the whole hardware and software solutionsIt includes design of hardware solution with DSP as the core, design of digital transistor trigger based on FPGA as the core, design of the alarm temperature detection circuit, design of communication interface, and design of system software architecture.The corresponding experimental results show that the static transfer switch controller can complete power supply switching function within 8 ms.
