Built on previous research about local scour of a single ring wing type bridge pier, this paper combines with previous research result and explore the local scour between ring wing type bridge pier in series. Influence factor on the local scour between ring wing type bridge piers in series is pier spacing between ring wing type bridge pier in series, the installation location and the installation location on the downside bridge pier. The biggest scour depth and the vertical velocity of pier bottom are selected as the experimental index, building the pier scour plate model, designing orthogonal experiment, with the help of range analysis and variance analysis, mastering primary and secondary relationship of three controlling factors in scour plate. In addition, analyzing the flow characteristics of a single ring wing type bridge pier and ring wing type bridge piers in series and vertical turbulence intensity of pier bottom of ring wing type bridge piers in series. Through analyzing the data of physical model experiment, the following conclusions are drawn:(1) The installation location of scour prevention baffle on upper bridge pier cannot influence the local scour of the downside bridge pier between ring wing type bridge piers in series.(2) Primary and secondary relationship and significant of three controlling factors on the local scour of between ring the downside bridge pier between ring wing type bridge piers in series shows the installation location of the scour prevention baffle on the downside bridge pier> the pier spacing between the ring wing type bridge piers in series> the installation number of the scour prevention baffle on the downside bridge pier, and the installation location of the scour prevention baffle on the downside bridge pier almost does not affect the experimental index. The optimum combination of the experimental model between the ring wing type bridge piers in series is that the installation location of the scour prevention baffle on downside bridge pier is 0.2 times depth of the water, the pier spacing between the ring wing type bridge piers in series is 3 times radius of bridge piers and the installation number of the scour prevention baffle on the downside bridge pier is 2.(3) The three dimensional distribution of the flow water between the ring wing type bridge piers in series can be changed acutely by the scour prevention baffle on the downside bridge pier under the different the pier spacing between the ring wing type bridge piers in series.(4) Vertical turbulence intensity of pier bottom of the downside bridge pier can increase with the increase of the pier spacing and reduce with the increasing of the installation number on the downside bridge pier between the ring wing type bridge piers in series.
