Uncertainty widely exists in practical engineering problems. Reliability analysis theory has gradually developed with considering the uncertainty existing in engineering structures. A series of methods have been proposed to conduct structural reliability analysis. The first order reliability method(FORM) is the classic and most commonly used method in the field of reliability analysis. However, when the nonlinearity of limit-state functions is relatively high, the second order reliability method(SORM) can be used to solve the problem. The methods and theories to conduct reliability analysis have been very mature and the development of structural reliability analysis software platform has become research hotspot. In this paper, we made some attempts in the development of the structural reliability analysis software system and research in optimization design method. The main contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, uncertainty exists in the frontal crash of the car. According to this kind of uncertainty, we select some energy-absorbing components’ parameters as the random variables and use radial basis function to create the response surface. And then we use a decoupling way to conduct reliability optimization design aiming at the frontal crash of the car, which improves the crashworthiness of the car.Secondly, the first order reliability method is the classic method among the methods of structural reliability analysis in the probability model. So first we use C++to programme the HL-RF method of the FORM. And then we compile the program to Plug-in based on the SIPESC platform. Finally, with some numerical and engineering examples, we use the MATLAB program and the program of this paper respectively to get the result and we compare the two kinds of results and indicate that the program of this paper is accurate and feasible.Thirdly, when we do the structural reliability analysis, if the nonlinearity of limit-state functions is relatively high, the result from the first order reliability method is not accurate enough, at that time we use the second order reliability method to improve accuracy. So first we use C++ to programme the Laplace method of the SORM. And then we compile the program to Plug-in based on the SIPESC platform.Finally, with some numerical and engineering examples, we use the MATLAB program and the program of this paper respectively to get the result and we compare the two kinds of results and indicate that the program of this paper is accurate and feasible. At last we conclude that the program of the paper can be used to conduct reliability analysis of practical problems.
