The Comparative Research Of Wooden-frame Craftsmanship Of Jiangnan Traditional Construction

This dissertation compares the craftsmanship of traditional wooden-construction of Jiangnan to sort out the similar and different parts of this skill, and to summarize the geographical and historical characteristics of this skill. Thereby being a strong theoretical significance to digging out the cultural characteristics of Jiangnan.In this paper, author selects the traditional building skills of 3 representative regions of Jiangnan: the traditional building skills of Xiang Shan Band, the traditional building skills of Dong Yang Band,the traditional building skills of Hui Zhou Band as the comparative study objects, besides covering the surrounding areas and Northern region. The purpose of this study is to investigate the geographical diversity of the wooden-frame craftsmanship of Jiangnan traditional construction. And digging out the cultural connotations of the diversity of craftsmanship.This paper is divided into 6 chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, including the significance of research objectives and the research background, and the most important is to define the scope and to elaborate the content of this study;The second chapter in terms of the natural environment, human environment, political and economic development process to discusses the origin and environment of the craftsmanship of Jiangnan traditional wood construction;The third chapter compares the plan layout, the facade construction and the roof shape structure of the traditional building of three Jiangnan regions, summed up their own unique style and causes;The fourth chapter expands a comparative research of the process of the craftsmanship of Jiangnan traditional wood construction, and discussed the choice of building materials, the process of creating a wooden timber frame connections;The fifth chapter compares the features and other aspects of the production process of Jiangnnan traditional wooden building; The sixth chapter discusses the impact of historical and geographical factors from the cultural point of view characteristic of the Jiangnan traditional building, and analyzed the big differences of wooden internal structure.
