With the rapid development of electric power system, the demand for electricity is more and more high, especially the main network with higher voltage level can not be cut off. Once the main network failure, will bring immeasurable loss to the people’s lives. But from this year to Jiangsu Province, the statistical data of the power grid, the 110kV line or a trip fault occurs. The main reason is mainly because of lightning and bird injury accident in line produced voltage or insulator insulating properties resulting in damage to the insulation level of transmission line decreased. This paper makes a deep research on the two point of failure, first at home and abroad, some research models of anti-back lightning are studied, and the formation of lightning discharge and related parameters are introduced.Aimed at the characteristics of lightning counterattack, this paper of 110kV line mainly three types of tower were analysis of wave impedance model, and to try to improve the typical model of grounding grid. The results show that the wave impedance model can be very good to the real situation of the lightning discharge. At the same time grounding improvement can significantly reduce the tower grounding resistance to anti lightning counterattack effect is very good.This paper studies the characteristics of the occurrence of faults caused by bird, the study found that bird fault occurred mainly related to two factors, one is the surrounding geographical environment, second is the tower structure. The surrounding geographical environment especially water environment most prone to bird damage. According to the above two kinds of fault, this paper designed the early warning system of anti bird. By building the bird model, combined with expert interview and AHP mathematical method of grading evaluation of bird damage. Practice proves that this method is effective...
