Distributed generation has many advantages such as small investment, clean, wide varieties, pollution free, which make it increasingly close traditional power grid. On the one hand, it can provide sufficient energy for particular client. On the other hand, it can enhance the liability and economy of the traditional grid. Distributed generation has become more and more important recent years.it is the perfect supplement to high voltage power grid while take full advantage of all kinds of energy. But once distributed generation was connected to power grid, the effect of it on the system’s structure, power flow, relay protection, power failure recovery must be considered. Based on this, this paper studied the impact of connected distributed generation to the system. Then introduce the already built distributed generation project of Taiyuan and analyze the promising prospect of distributed generation in Taiyuan. he main contents of this paper include:The introductory remarks part first introduced the selected topic background and the research present situation. The concept of distributed generation was defined and 6 different types of distributed generation was introduced regarding basic knowlogy and application. The key index of distributed energy synchronizing with power system including voltage, frequency etc.Then major work has been done to study the impact of synchronized distributed energy on power system within four different aspect. Starting with power grid structure, synchronized distributed energy can make users and system become closer. It can also make the power flow of the system more complicated. Besides, Current protection, single earthed short cut protection and auto enclosure will work improperly if distributed energy was connected.This paper focus on the gas turbine generation project in Taiyuan. The operation mode, synchronizing method, operation strategy of the distribution generation project were studied. Short current and the relay protection strategy were analyzed based on the filed devices. Distributed generation are very promising in Shanxi province.Over all, distributed generation have so many advantages which attract a lots of scholars to study. All their hard work have made it more valuable and useful, hence lower the cost of distributed generation apparatus. Distributed energy plays a more and more important role in the system and becomes one of the crucial aspect of clean energy.
